From France: Kessie to stay as Monaco eye former AC Milan man

By Isak Möller -

Franck Kessie’s future seems to have been decided. Despite heavy interest from Monaco, as reported by RMC Sport, the Ivorian midfielder looks set to remain at AC Milan this summer.

According to new reports from the French outlet, as cited by Calciomercato.com, Monaco have set their sights on an alternative, as the negotiations for Kessie are beginning to slow down.

The report claims that the French side could opt for former AC Milan man Tiemoué Bakayoko instead, who could face little playing time at Chelsea this season. After returning from the loan at San Siro, in fact, he hasn’t impressed the Blues fans.

Kessie, meanwhile, continues to ask for a very high salary in the negotiations with Monaco, more specifically €4.5m per year, according to Calciomercato.com. This has complicated the transfer, as the French side aren’t willing to pay him that much.

This Saturday, Milan will face Brescia at the San Siro, looking to bounce back from the loss against Udinese in the first round.
