From France: PSG board not keen on Donnarumma move for two reasons

Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo wants to sign AC Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma, but the club’s board are reportedly unsure for two reasons.

The Ligue 1 giants were strongly linked with a move for the goalkeeper earlier in the summer, with a bid of €20m plus Alphonse Areola rejected by the Rossoneri.

Just as it seemed that the saga was over and Donnarumma would certainly be remaining at Milan, Kevin Trapp’s move from PSG to Eintracht Frankfurt has seemingly thrown everything up in the air again.

It has been reported that should the Parisians make another big sale – possibly that of Neymar to Barcelona or Real Madrid – then Leonardo will raid his former club for Donnarumma.

It was even suggested in the media on Saturday that the club has drawn up a list of three possible replacements for the 20-year-old should he depart for the French capital.

According to L’Equipe on Sunday, Leonardo has not given up his hopes of signing Donnarumma, but he faces obstacles.

Their report claims that some at PSG have doubts over what could be a €60m move due to the fact that he has no Champions League and very little international experience.

In addition, it is believed that Donnarumma for his part wants to stay at Milan and has made it abundantly clear that he has no intentions of leaving.
