From Portugal: Monaco join Milan and Fulham in race for Benfica starlet – offer presented

By Nikita Fesyukov -

It is no secret that AC Milan are looking to reinforce the midfield even after the arrival of Sandro Tonali at the club. The main objective is supposedly Tiemoue Bakayoko, but given the difficulties in negotiations with Chelsea, the Rossoneri are looking around for alternatives.

One of these alternatives is Florentino Luis from Benfica, who was a target for Maldini also during the last winter transfer market. While an agreement wasn’t reached then, Milan have remained in contact with the agent of the midfielder.

However, the 21-year-old Portuguese international has many suitors across the continent. Recently there has been talk of Fulham’s interest in the player, but now rumours from Record, one of Portugal’s most prominent newspapers, suggest that Monaco have joined the race to sign the player.

According to the newspaper, the Monegasque club offered 1.5 million euros for an initial loan deal with an option to buy set at 30 million. The club is now awaiting the response of Benfica to this offer.
