From Russia: Milan set to complete signing of Rubin Kazan star – Kaladze assisted the operation

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are set to complete the signing of Rubin Kazan winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, according to a report from Russia.

The Rossoneri have been repeatedly linked with a move for the Georgia international over the past few weeks and months and it was expected that a bidding war could break out given that other clubs registered interest, but then things seemed to go quiet.

According to Metaratings.ru however, Kvaratskhelia will continue his career at Milan, with former Milan defender Kakhaber Kaladze having assisted the deal. The 20-year-old has been playing for Rubin since 2019 and during this time he had played 51 matches, scoring 7 goals and adding 13 assists.

Kvaratskhelia’s father has already revealed to the the media that his son would definitely no longer play in Russia and would move to one of the top European leagues during the summer transfer window, as per the report. It seems Serie A and Milan could be his destination.

    1. Do you say the same when clubs like Atalanta and Lille sign lesser known players and 5urn them into top stars? Milan need to get better at signing players before they peak and developing them.

      1. But imo not selling them and building a team with them. For eg Fik Theo Maignan Calabria Tonali Jorge. These players should be our core. Don’t sell at amy price. Keep and build the team. We aremt a selling club, we are milan not Dortmund

        1. It’s not the 90s any more; in FFP era every club has to be a selling club, unless they’re owned by oil money.

It’s how you generate that improvement: Liverpool sell Coutinho and buy Salah and van Dyck, Chelsea sell Hazard and buy Havertz…

Milan can’t compete with PSG or the big few English teams for salaries, so if those clubs offer big money for Hernandez or Kessie we should take it IMO. Tomori too; his value is only so high because, as an English player, he’ll be valuable to any Premier League club and they can afford big money for a transfer in a couple of years.

If Milan can’t find good replacements for these players if they sell for €40-60m, then the scouting department isn’t doing its job right IMO. Time to play moneyball…

  1. From what I saw this kid is something we should truly get him he got skills he’s fast and thats all we need

  2. As I have suggested before, Milan need to offload Leao and Hauge for 35-42 million to give a space for Kvaratskhelia. I’m surprise when I know his age just 20 years old, but plays like 25 years old players. I think he would be a signficant signing for Milan.

    1. Leao and hauge always give their best to Milan.. I’m sure if we keep them for 2 more season we will end up getting atleast 75mil or more for both of them.. they are fast and also scores goals, give them a chance for GOD sake

  3. Milan do not have the money to buy Kvaratskhelia. Actually, Milan is hunting ‘loan with option to buy’ types of players. Kvaratskhelia will go probably to Leeds. Such a pity we are losing him.
