From Spain: Atletico Madrid and Sevilla want Milan winger – his replacement is already lined up

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are ready to say goodbye to winger Samu Castillejo after over two years at the club and already have his replacement in mind, a report claims.

The start of the season was not easy for Castillejo and he has struggled with injuries, but compared to the likes of Rafael Leao, Ante Rebic, Hakan Calhanoglu and even now Brahim Diaz, it would be fair to say the Spaniard appears to be a weak link in the attack, especially having lost the starting spot to Alexis Saelemaekers.

Fichajes.net are convinced that the Rossoneri are ready to put the former Villarreal star on the market and that his days are numbered. Not only that, but the Spanish outlet believe Paolo Maldini’s goal would be to replace him with Marseille winger Florian Thauvin.

The Frenchman has long been in the sights of the Milan management and the fact his contract expires on June 30th makes him an opportunity to be seized. It is possible that Milan could move in January to sign Thauvin by paying a small fee to the Ligue 1 side.

For Castillejo, a return to LaLiga could be on the cards as Atletico Madrid and Sevilla are ready to make an offer for the 25-year-old.
