From Spain: Defender Milan paid €18m for will leave on a free – agreement with LaLiga club

AC Milan defender Mateo Musacchio will leave the club at the end of the season and already has a verbal agreement with another team, a report claims.

According to the Spanish outlet TF, Musacchio has not only decided to leave Milan in June, but he has already decided on what his next destination will be – and it will be a familiar one.

It seems that the Argentine has given his word to Villarreal that he will return to the club he joined when he was just 19 years old and had left his homeland.

The report is certain that Musacchio will return to Villarreal for the start of the 2021-22 season on a free transfer, officially bidding farewell to Milan after four seasons.

In a roundabout way it represents a smart piece of business for the LaLiga side, as Musacchio left them three seasons ago after Milan paid €18m for his signing and he will now return to the Yellow Submarine at zero cost.
