From Spain: Elliott want Guardiola at AC Milan; Shevchenko the alternative

By Isak Möller -

According to Mundo Deportivo, AC Milan owners Elliott Management are tired of the subpar management currently in place at the club, looking to revolutionize the Rossoneri.

As stated by the newspaper, the American hedge fund wants Pep Guardiola to lead the team to success from the 2020/21 season. However, the Spaniard’s contract with Man City expires in 2021.

Therefore, Andriy Shevchenko has been identified as the alternative. The former Rossoneri striker has secured a ticket to the Euros next summer with his Ukraine, after beating Portugal at home.

Furthermore, the newspaper continues, Elliott would like to replace Paolo Maldini with Marc Overmars, who recently signed a renewal with Ajax until 2024. In other words, two difficult and unrealistic tasks, one could argue.

Most likely, Elliott’s next movements will depend on the outcome of this season. Should it go well, then the management probably will have a bigger say about their future at the club.
