From Spain: Liverpool to rival Milan for €30m Schalke star as Sevilla demand €100m for duo

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has set his sights on the signing of centre-back Ozan Kabak from Schalke, who has been linked with a move to AC Milan.

After having been linked towards the end of the summer window, Calciomercato.com reported earlier in the week that Milan are still in the market for a defender and Kabak is still on the list of targets, but is seemingly behind Nikola Milenkovic of Fiorentina.

According to the latest from Spanish outlet TodoFichajes, Jürgen Klopp has urgently requested a new central defender after Virgil van Dijk’s serious injury, but Liverpool have run aground in their attempts to sign Koundé and Diego Carlos from Sevilla, both of whom the Andalusian club will not let go for less than €50m.

Kabak has now found his way onto the Reds’ wish list as a result. The former Dortmund boss knows the 20-year-old Schalke centre-back well, and Liverpool are ready to try and lower the €30m demands by including a player as a counterpart.

Kabak for his part would jump at the chance to join Liverpool as he is ready to take the next step in his career.
