From Spain: Milan and Atalanta both keen on signing 32-year-old Sevilla playmaker

AC Milan and Atalanta will do battle on the pitch on Sunday night, but they could also pursue the same transfer target too according to a report.

The Spanish source TDFichajes writes that Sevilla playmaker Franco Vázquez will leave on June 30 when his contract expires and his future seems to be back in Italy. The 32-year-old apparently has two offers on the table, one from Milan and the other from Atalanta.

Although Fiorentina and Sampdoria are also interested, the projects of both clubs generate many doubts as Vazquez wants a team that will play in Europe next season. The report mentions that he would prefer to play for Atalanta, since last January he was close to joining Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad, the club taking advantage of the negotiations with Sevilla for Papu Gómez.

As it is a free transfer though his profile is extremely interesting for the two Serie A clubs, although it will be the player in this case who will have all the decision making power. Vazquez has 26 goals and 19 assists in 197 appearances since his move from Palermo.
