From Spain: Milan identify €35m man as ideal long-term successor to Ibrahimovic

AC Milan have identified the man they want as the long-term replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic: Paris Saint-Germain striker Mauro Icardi.

According to Fichajes.net, Icardi could return to Italy sooner rather than later as the ex-Inter striker could play for the other half of the city this time. Milan will not renew Mario Mandzukic and need a replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic who has another year of contract but will turn 40 later this year.

The Rossoneri already know the price of Icardi: €35m will be needed to sign him from the French side, a figure that is deemed high at the moment but not enough to put them off. On the other hand, Icardi wants to have continuous playing time again, something that he is not enjoying at PSG where in important games he appears outside the starting XI.

He would welcome an exit to a country and a city that he knows well enough and Milan will make a formal offer as soon as they know what their budget is for the summer window, which of course depends on a top four spot.
