AC Milan remain in the newspaper headlines this morning, more specifically Paulo Fonseca and his plans to speak with the team after his comments on Wednesday night.
It would be fair to say that Fonseca spoke his mind after Milan’s win against Red Star, producing perhaps his most honest interview yet. He took issue with the attitude that he saw from his team, questioning if some players are putting in their all.
We broke down his comments and explained who they were aimed at and what might happen now in an article that went out yesterday, but the fall-out has continued into Friday.
Today’s front pages
Indeed, the Italian newspapers have once again focused on Fonseca and Theo Hernandez in particular, who many presume to be the main culprit.
La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Theo: Back to the wall. Face to face with Fonseca. The coach was tough: ‘You must only think about Milan’.”
Corriere dello Sport: “Fonseca is left alone. Theo, Calabria, Tomori and Loftus-Cheek in the crosshairs: today the discussion. Milan split after the Portuguese’s outburst.”
Tuttosport: “Milan, a showdown is in the air. Fonseca’s outburst against the players.Yesterday the discussion with Ibra and some individual chats, today face to face with the team. Tough line: those who slip up pay. And for Theo, the bench against Genoa is on the cards.”
QS: “Fonseca alone, Milan in the balance. No directors at Milanello after the outburst at a crucial moment.”
Look at Theo and tell me he is not a crybaby who acts up if he dont get his will.
I understand now why Real let him go so cheap.
