Gallery: ‘The Devil’s touch’, ‘Camarda record debut’ – Today’s front pages in Italy

AC Milan finally got their Champions League campaign up and running at San Siro last night as they beat Club Brugge 3-1.

Milan finally got off the mark in the competition after two defeats with a victory against the Belgian champions, with Tijjani Reijnders scoring a match-winning brace in the second-half with assists from two substitutes in Noah Okafor and Samuel Chukwueze.

Francesco Camarda saw a late goal disallowed which would have made him a record breaker, while Christian Pulisic’s Olimpico goal was a brilliant opener. The away side did equalise after going down to 10 men, which will no doubt worry Paulo Fonseca, but the win was the important thing.

Below is how the front pages of the sports papers in Italy look this morning…

La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Champions League: Only Milan celebrating. The Devil’s touch. Leao off, Okafor and Chukwueze come on and unlock Reijnders. Brugge beaten. Camarda record, but the goal… offside.”

Corriere dello Sport: “Reijnders double, Leao off after 60’. Milan beats 10-man Brugge 3-1. Pulisic scores from a corner, Sabbe equalises. The former AZ man puts on a show. Camarda record debut.”

Tuttosport: “Leao goes off and Milan win. Reijnders double after Brugge equalised for 1-1, and the Rafa Leao change. Belgians equalise with 10 men, the Dutchman spares the blushes. Fonseca: ‘Credit goes to the subs’. Camarda: Record goal is offside.”
