AC Milan were not at their best against Hellas Verona, but they did just about enough to win at the Bentegodi on Sunday.
Milan travelled to Veneto with a clear aim in mind: to win and reclaim second place in the table, especially after back-to-back defeats. While it was far from pretty, they managed to achieve their aim as Adrien Rabiot scored the only goal of the game. He was named the MOTM in our player ratings.

The big winners this weekend were Milan and Juventus, who capitalised on slips by Como, Roma and Napoli to take a big step towards securing a top four spot. Below is how the Italian papers look.
La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Champions League, here we are. Milan and Juve go ahead. Sunday, face-to-face at San Siro. Rabiot decides it in Verona. The Diavolo are second, eight points clear. Leao jeered and taken off: ‘It’s always me’.”
Corriere dello Sport: “Max, a nose in the Champions League. Milan wins 1-0 in Verona: eight points clear of the top five and qualification is within reach.”
“Rabiot’s goal and a 13th victory by a goal: the Rossoneri draw level with Napoli in second place and extend their lead over Como and Roma. Assist by Leao, who is then substituted and complains: ‘Why always me?’ Allegri: ‘National team coach? I’m only focused on this’.”
Tuttosport: “Milan, second place and new storms. A tough win in Verona: racist boos at Leao, jeers at Maignan. Allegri: ‘I’ll work hard to stay’. Rabiot’s goal draws level with Napoli.”
QS: “Rabiot makes Max smile again. The Diavolo are eight points ahead of fifth place.”
