There were mixed reactions from the Italian papers after AC Milan battled from behind to earn a draw against Red Bull Salzburg to begin their Champions League campaign.

Alexis Saelemaekers was the man who got his name on the scoresheet netting his first Champions League goal for the club, which came after Noah Okafor’s silky dribble and finish had put the hosts in front. Below are the headlined from the papers…

Gazzetta dello Sport: Milan, half a symphony. It ends 1-1 in Salzburg, Chelsea beaten by the Croatians. Saelemaekers pegs back the Austrians, Leao denied by the upright.”

Corriere dello Sport:Milan, regrets in Salzburg. The Rossoneri come back with Saelemaekers.”

Tuttosport: “Milan, the upright of regret. In Salzburg a 1-1 draw through Saelemaekers, at the 94th minute huge chance for Leao.”
