AC Milan pulled off a remarkable comeback in the Supercoppa Italiana final tonight, coming from two goals behind to beat Inter 3-2.

Inter went two up as Lautaro Martinez and Mehdi Taremi scored either side of the half-time whistle, and it looked like they were heading for a fourth straight Super Cup win.

However, Milan kept fighting just like against Juventus, and roared back. Theo Hernandez scored with a free-kick to halve the deficit, Christian Pulisic equalised with a sweet strike and Tammy Abraham won it in the dying moments.

Amid jubilant scenes on the field, the players were handed their medals for winning the competition and then gathered on stage to lift the trophy, which Mike Maignan and Davide Calabria – the two players to wear the armband tonight – did together.

    1. How can you say that? The first goal, Martinez was clearly in front of Sommer and as such prevented from seeing the ball early. Moreover, credit should be given to Thoe, for bending the ball so well. The Second goal Bastoni was blind sight by Pulisic movement, he didn’t see Pulisic run up until he had taken the ball and any contact from Bastoni to Pulisic would be a penalty. And the strike from Pulisic was so perfect that Sommer and any other goalkeeper had no chance of keeping out. Don’t downplay a well deserved victory from the guys. They were given no gift.

      1. Pulisic has shown this new ability to sneak up from behind defenders and steal the ball from them.
That was how he scored the first goal against Inter earlier this season.
Same thing with the PK (which the replays somehow managed to not get a good closeup of). He snuck up behind Locatelli and took the ball away, and Locatelli ended up fouling him.
