SportMediaset: Füllkrug-Pulisic partnership likely to continue in Milan-Como – the reason

AC Milan look likely to partner Christian Pulisic with Niclas Füllkrug once again, after their solid showing against Fiorentina at the weekend.

Whilst neither made a contribution to the result, the first example of Pulisic and Füllkrug starting together was a positive one. They linked well, and on another day, the American probably would have scored a brace. It was certainly a rare off day.

Nevertheless, for their first time starting alongside each other, a lot of positives can be taken and it seems Massimiliano Allegri will continue with them together, rather than giving the scorer of the Rossoneri’s only goal, Christopher Nkunku, a chance.

Caution prevails

If there were to be a change, it would’ve been to bring Rafael Leao into the mix, but Allegri is being cautious with the star. After all, he does not want to overload his workload too soon and risk further damage.

So, SportMediaset (via MilanNews) reports that the German will partner the Diavolo’s other headliner again against Como at San Siro on Thursday.

The duo are also expected to be joined by Fikayo Tomori, Luka Modric, Adrien Rabiot and Davide Bartesaghi in the team, with the quartet set to return to the starting XI after missing this weekend’s game.

  1. Just in – Niclas Fullkrug has broken a toe and will be sidelined for some time. His recovery time is still being assessed, but it will be assessed by the AC Milan medical staff in the coming hours. What’s certain is that the German striker will be out of action against Como on Thursday, and it’s unlikely he’ll be available for the match at San Siro against Lecce either.
