Sky: Füllkrug trained through ‘gritted teeth’ and could feature vs. Como – the latest

AC Milan have been given some strange news today, and Niclas Füllkrug could actually feature in some way against Como.

The news in the past 24 hours has suggested that Füllkrug would be facing a decent time out, thanks to an injury suffered to his toe. In fact, it seemed that he would be missing the games against Como and Lecce at a minimum.

Given that Massimiliano Allegri has been perhaps slightly overcautious with injuries this season, potentially, there may have been fears over a longer lay-off. However, this may not be the case anymore.

Füllkrug is fine?

In his press conference earlier today, the coach stated that he would be out for tomorrow’s game, but was hoping for his return as early as this weekend.

“Füllkrug is out, as is Pavlovic. Pavlovic has nine stitches, Füllkrug has this stubbed toe that will keep him out today, hopefully for Sunday, otherwise against Roma.”

Nevertheless, MilanNews relays a report from Sky, stating that he actually trained at Milanello today, albeit through gritted teeth. As a result, there is a possibility that he could even feature on the bench for tomorrow’s game against Como.

Given the lack of options available to him currently, it would not be a surprise if Füllkrug were to at least feature on the bench. However, it is dependent on how he feels tomorrow. If there is no comfort, then it seems probable that he will be in the squad.

  1. A stub toe has such a wide range when it comes to pain and recovery. Depending on your pain tolerance level you can play through them. Other times not. It also depends on if you’re going to take a pain killer/injection. It’s always easier with the shot
