AC Milan CEO has stressed that the heart of the club remains the city of Milano and its surrounding areas, as today’s project unveiling shows.

Furlani spoke during the inauguration of the multi-purpose sports centre in Grattosoglio by the Rossoneri about the importance of staying close knit within the community.

“I thank our captains, Valentina [Bergamaschi] and Davide [Calabria], I thank our great players, Linsdey [Thomas)]and Divock [Origi], thank you for being here,” he said.

“I am the CEO of Milan but I am here as Fondazione Milan today. Yes, we do projects around the world, but the Milan area is obviously central to us. We [the Fondazione] have existed since 2003, we have carried out 72 projects in and around Milan, we have invested in equipment of this type €4.5m and we will continue to do so because it is very important for us.

“I hope this space will be a place for you guys to have fun, where you will make friends, have a good time and for those who are not, you will become Milan fans. Thank you all.”

The centre is located in the territory of the parish of Santa Maria Madre della Chiesa in the Gratosoglio district, on the southern outskirts of Milan. It has two 5-a-side football fields, a basketball court and a volleyball court among other amenities.
