Furlani says Milan ‘have a lot of time’ to complete signings: “Not in a rush”

Giorgio Furlani was asked about the mercato during AC Milan’s press conference last night, ahead of the game against Man City at midnight. As always, however, he was very coy and made it clear that the transfer window is long.

Milan have signed just Albvaro Morata this summer and as we get closer to August, the fans were expecting more. While the squad is in a much better position than it was at the start of last summer, getting the signings done early is always beneficial for the pre-season.

During the press conference for Milan-Man City last night, the Milan CEO Furlani said a few words about the mercato and assured that the directors are working on the matter. However, they are in no rush to complete any deals, as transcribed by Matt Santangelo of Milan Reports.

“Last summer, we had to completely overhaul the squad because it wasn’t the squad we wanted. This summer, it’s different. We are more tactical and more patient and not in a rush. We signed our number nine which was an important addition.

“For the rest, we don’t really comment on exact names. We look at a lot of players and potential additions. The market ends at the end of August and we have a lot of time,” he stated.

It remains to be seen if we will see some signings in the next two weeks, with both Strahinja Pavlovic and Emerson Royal being very close as per the latest reports. At this point, it is almost needed to calm down the fans.
