MN: Furlani the new ‘pilot’ of Milan’s journey towards a ‘glittering grandeur’

AC Milan are entering a new era from a commercial point of view as Giorgio Furlani has officially taken over from Ivan Gazidis as the CEO.

In his latest column for MilanNews, Pietro Mazzara writes that Furlani is the new ‘pilot’ of Milan’s direction towards what will hopefully be a ‘glittering grandeur’ given that today he will begin his mandate as CEO, succeeding Gazidis.

He will have the task of taking the club to the next level, while RedBird Capital and owner Gerry Cardinale made the ‘most logical’ choice in terms of continuity of the economic-financial management of the club.

RedBird are already working to increase the revenues that Milan generate and the movements made by the club in the first months under the new owners indicate that.

For example, during the tour in Dubai the renewal of the contract with Emirates should be announced and that will further raise the commercial value of the Milan shirt. The new deal with the airline will be worth €30-35m as the main men’s first team shirt sponsor, with the new PUMA deal worth €30m per year.
