Furlani praises Milan for ‘important’ maternity policy: “Further motivation for growth”

By Ben Dixon -

Earlier this morning, AC Milan announced a new maternity policy which will have a massive impact on the club’s players and staff, and the Rossoneri’s CEO has commented on the policy and its importance.

Milan have regularly been a leader in creating policies for women in Italian football, being the first club to introduce a pension scheme for their players, and this is the latest effort to continue to offer stability to their players.

In a statement this morning, the club announced the new policy which aims to further aid an inclusive and safe environment for players and staff alike. Notably, Milan will now offer pregnant players and staff a contract renewal on the same economic terms, offering stability to players and staff.

Furthermore, there will be childcare assistance provided allowing players to continue their profession after their return with no worries about their child which is fantastic from the club.

Following the news, Giorgio Furlani spoke about the impact of the policy, and his words have been relayed by Milan News.

“We are proud to present such an important project, which once again demonstrates Milan’s attention to issues relevant to all members of the Rossoneri family. We want this new step to be a further motivation for growth and development for the whole Club, becoming a model to be followed on a national and international level, helping to make the world of football an environment in which everyone can feel free to make important personal decisions.”
