AC Milan have apparently made contact with Carlo Ancelotti to let him know that ‘the doors are open’ for him to return to the club.

The possible return of Ancelotti is something that has been speculated over for a long time but never seems to have been close to happening. However, the upcoming summer could bring huge changes at both Milan and Real Madrid.

Okdiario’s chief pundit Eduardo Inda, while speaking on El Chiringuito, dropped the bombshell that Milan have made contact with their former coach about a return.

“I am told that the CEO of Milan has addressed his former friend Carlo Ancelotti,” he began, as relayed by ThePageNews.

“He has told him that if he leaves Real Madrid he has the doors of Milan open in the final stretch of his career, where he was a player and also a coach. The offer holds in case he does not continue as coach of Real Madrid next season.”

Ancelotti is under contract with Los Blancos until 2026 but there have been strong doubts cast over whether he will continue beyond the end of the season. Given the insanely high standards, a lot depends on their Champions League progress and if they win the LaLiga title.

Meanwhile, the Italian media have suggested that Sergio Conceicao is already ‘walking a tightrope’. He will be judged on whether a top four finish is achieved, especially given that the club have a break clause in his 18-month deal allowing it to be terminated in June.

    1. Gasperini is a hard no. Read the headlines to see what his man management is like.

Ancelotti will never come back to Milan. His next job will be a National Team.

  1. I love Carlo as much as anyone. Would be great to have him back.

But unless he’s given the budget to get the right players and a strong – and more importantly competent – management team behind him, he should not be expected to work miracles.

His first request……bring Maldini back. Not sure Gerry can live with that egg on his face.

  2. Not that I wouldn’t like to have him back with us but unless he has changed his mind he has actually previously said in recent years that he would retire when he leaves Real Madrid.

      1. That is waaayyy back he said that about AS Roma and I believe Ancelotti said he would retire at Real Madrid a year and a half or two ago if he were to leave the club so people just shouldn’t get their hopes up as it seems unrealistic at this point but who knows maybe he has had a change of mind.

  3. I can’t see how Ancelotti would work out in Milan. Without established players and stars, and a management who would listen to him, nope. Didn’t quite work out in Napoli or Everton

    1. This. I love Carlo, but I’m also wary of the circumstances and “reheated soup”. I would hate for his legacy to be tarnished by a poor second spell, the odds of which are very high. Carlo was always a man-manager who thrives on getting superstars to work together, and not a manager who got average to good players to play above their ability.

  4. I actually think Sergio could be close to turning a corner but I would drop any notion of keeping him being a good idea if it meant king carlo could come back home.

  5. I don’t like that this leaked to the media… basically saying if Ancelotti wants to return, Sergio is out even if he pulls the top 4 miracle and a Coppa Italia.

  6. Dont come back Carlo. Don’t want to tarnish your legacy with this bunch. You’re already well revered. Only thing left is to win the World Cup for the trophy cabinet..
