Furlani remains at Milan
What is still needing to be sorted, though, is the CEO position. Suggestions had been made that Massimo Calvelli had stepped into the role. However, a report today has confirmed that Furlani is still involved.
Now, that is strange, considering he was officially sacked on May 25, when RedBird Capital Partners announced the cleanup. Now, Felice Raimondo has offered some information on the situation on X.
“Calvelli leads the delegations, but Furlani is still the CEO. The latest updates from the companies register. The new chamber of commerce certificate shows the delegations granted on May 28: single signature up to 10 million, an uncovered gap up to 100, and Furlani formally still in office.
“A clearly transitional structure that will be finalized with the appointment of a new CEO who will take the place of the one substantially distrusted but not yet revoked (Furlani) and who can also handle major operations. In the meantime, for the appointment of the new coach, the new delegations provided to Calvelli are sufficient.”
In other words, Calvelli has the power to do what he needs to, but Furlani is still the one to get the big deals signed. Barring that, it seems his role and impact are minimal.
