Giorgio Furlani has ended up in the crosshairs of the AC Milan fans, something which has left the CEO feeling ‘deeply upset’.
A year after the heated protests against Gerry Cardinale and the RedBird ownership, history is repeating itself at Milan. As Calciomercato.com report, this time the target is Furlani, who is ‘increasingly unpopular with the fans, yet increasingly powerful within Milan’.

A petition was launched on the website Change.org which now has over 43,000 signatures, and it could lead to some reflections now just from the owners but from Furlani himself.
Furlani reflects on future
The report claims that Furlani is ‘very disappointed by the growing distrust towards him’ and now has ‘some doubts about what his personal and professional choices for the future should be’.
Transfer market interference, fragmented communication and the dismantling of organised fan support are some of the accusations Milan supporters are making against the former Elliott man. All this comes while city rivals Inter seem to have an ambitious and successful structure.
Calciomercato.com add that part of RedBird are ‘very dissatisfied with Giorgio Furlani’s performance and are reportedly pushing for a change’. One year ago, the Milanese executive returned from a summit in America with a three-year contract extension signed by Gerry Cardinale, through 2028.
While waiting to see what the atmosphere will be like tomorrow at San Siro, Furlani was ‘deeply upset by the protest’. He continues to independently pursue contacts with sporting directors and coaches, but he is also considering his future and the idea of ending his time at Milan.
These are going to be a hot few weeks at AC Milan: all the key figures, both managerial and technical, are under scrutiny, and a new complete overhaul is ‘likely on the horizon’.

Nice. The attacks need to be increased now…
Relax buddy. No one is storming the capitol with you.
He should resign at once, bloody weasel.
As a self professed AC Milan fan according to himself I can understand that its probably not a nice situation to be in but I can’t really say that I feel especially sorry for him. He might be great with numbers and finances but AC Milan has turned into a selling club that when it plugs one hole it just creates a new bigger one and when things finally gets fixed it starts all over again.
I have absolutely no issues if he leaves the club but as long the mentality of the entire setup changes then nothing will change.
AC Milan should strive to win all competitions they participates in, the players should have a mentality that instills fear in our opponents, bleed and kill till the last man standing. Nothing less will satisfy me at least. We have been patient for years and decades it stops now.
As a public figure, it’s part of the risk. I’m not sorry for him at all. Not in his defense, but we’re always going to be a selling club. As long as there is a league (EPL, or more than one if you include Saudi) where even the relegation battlers can offer higher wages and afford larger transfer fees, we and pretty much every Italian club will be a selling club. Having our own stadium will ameliorate that a little bit, but we’re just not going to be able to compete on wages and fees after a certain point.
What we need to be is the Atalanta model combined with our ability to retain players for longer than they can (as we have better finances they do). Call it “Atalanta Model+”. So we’re still developing academy players, still buying young talent in the 20M range, but maybe able to make a targeted signing in the 50M range every now and then, and most importantly we’ll be able to hold on to players longer or until it suits us, at Atalanta can’t pay players 7M per year even now.
The issue with Furlani’s time is not the model, it’s the execution. We’ve made some terrible choices on the market, terrible coaching choices, and terrible choices when it comes to hiring staff. People complaint about the lack of money, but if Furlani had 200M to spend every summer he’d spend it badly, because he’s not good at football operations.
TLDR, it’s not the budget in the end, it’s how it’s been spent, and Furlani is ultimately responsible, as he oversees the whole thing.
Well neither do I and sure it comes with the profession. Well financially yes but if the club can actually rely on some players loyalty then I’m pretty lot of those from our own ranks could choose club above riches. That way we can compete again.
If that is not an option and we doesn’t really want to compete well then advise is to shut the doors and just call it quits as there is no point in continuing just for the sake of continuing.
Not opposing that as I also pretty much touched that area above 🙂
Well sure but its not like its real investments as we at the same time sells some of our best players so it’s just rehashing and hoping for success. We simply needs to start keeping our best core players.
As much as I can understand and even agree on the part of investing badly we are still in plus in regard of sales so I see it more as putting on a bandage rather than progressing as a team. We cant keep sellling opur best players unless we add better ones and that isnt happening so its just backwards.
Even though I’ve been a Milan fan since 1989 I’m starting to get fed up with it and even though I would never stop being a fan I might actually start watching the matches a lot less.
“TLDR, it’s not the budget in the end, it’s how it’s been spent, and Furlani is ultimately responsible, as he oversees the whole thing.”
While that’s correct, the LOGICAL appointments of Tare and Allegri were well received overall and things were great until February. Some fans have no sense of perspective.
“AC Milan has turned into a selling club”
Inter Milan sold:
1. Onana
2. Pinamonti
3. Brozovic
4. Zakwski
Napoli sold:
1. Koulibaly
2. Fabian Ruiz
3. Kim
4. Elmas
5. Kvaratskhelia
6. Osimhen
7. Raspadori
Milan sold:
1. Tonali
2. Reijnders
3. CDK
4. Thiaw
Ok, Milan is a selling club.
So what ? I don’t give a damn about those clubs and how they operates and Milan shouldn’t compare itself with those clubs. If anything Milan should strive to reach the heights of Real Madrid. We as fans shouldn’t settle for less.
But you said we shouldn’t compare with Bayern Munich and instead look local.
Now it’s convenient to compare with Madrid.
Madrid has sold only Casimero in this period, so maybe the entire Serie A shouldn’t look local anymore and therefore look foreign to a club like Bayern.
But then, my question, does this mean that Stefano Cocirio was right when he said “Look at Bayern Munich” and it turned into a frenzy?
I haven’t mentioned Bayern except in this exact sentence so what the hell are you talking about ?making up bs I see.
When I mention Real Madrid I’m talking about the best of the best and those who has won most CL trophies hence why I mentioned exactly them. We shouldn’t settle being mediocre or even only winning once in a while we as a club should strive for winning everything and keeping our best players.
Well its not really my responsibility of what other people says or how they react to info you do realize that right ? Bayern is a very well organized club and I do commend them for utilizing homegrown players though.
You gotta chill buddy,
Why venting on the keyboard?
You can see clearly I was referring to the Stefano Cocirio which was a sensation, I didn’t mean to you particularly said so.
But, I’m just borderline lackadaisical to engage with so many people in here because there’s so much lazy followership with objective reasoning in here.
P.S:
There’s a guy in here named @Bruno, I always look forward to reading his comments but it’s been a while since last year I read his comments here, I hope you’re fine Bruno if you ever read this.
Peace and love.

Well I didn’t get angry with you I just got a bit irritated as it seemed like you tried to put words in my mouth about something I hadn’t said but maybe it was just down to the wording. Either way sorry if you felt that I did become angry with you.
Well I seem to have misread the last part you wrote so my bad on that one as I have no issues in accepting if I’m wrong. I actually looked his name up in regard of SempreMilan and could see that I had never posted under any of his interviews so just thought what the heck.
Anyways I have no issues with you even if we doesn’t always agree upon everything.
Thanks for the message!
Honestly, please don’t worry about it at all; it’s all good on my end. I completely understand how things can get misread or come across the wrong way through written communication, so no hard feelings whatsoever.
But, honestly, I don’t mind that we don’t always agree. It makes the conversations even more interesting for me anyway.
😎
Glad you see it that way.
Me neither as its a great part of a debate 🙂
ignore that dude,
“AC Milan sold Theo Hernández to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal in a deal worth a total package of €35M.”
He’s biased.. He is making the list shorter to sound nice. He should review what else is missing there.
He’s a ‘legend’ here in comment section. so called Joh-n Legend lol
You claim to have followed the club since 1989 and yet have blanked out the 2000s. That’s when Milan became a selling club, under the guy responsible for our greatest successes – Berlusconi, you hypocrite.
Of course I know we sold some players then but we still had a core into the early 2010s while also winning 2 cl titles in the 00s so how about you keep your bs to yourself ‘übersulker the epitome of a suckup to the ownership.
I beginning to think that you’re still a child.
That’s a very limited view… You’re only mentioning the players with any value to them. What about the rest of the garbage brought in then sold off?
Mr Unlimited.
Please indulge me, what garbage was brought in then sold off?

Not every comment should be a robust academic expose, I mean I cannot educate you all the time, sometimes I just speak on face value, and not all sales should be attributed to transfer values as other factors should also be considered.
Milan for instance had no intention whatsoever to sell Theo, that sale was a forced sale necessitated by sporting breakdown, such kind of sale cannot directly mean the club is a selling club. A selling club would never sell a Theo – top 3 left backs in the world (arguably) – for a mere €35m at that age his prime after signing him for €25m.
Similarly, CDK’s was a necessitated sale after he couldn’t fit in, in fact Milan sold him I believe at a loss, can you then say Milan is a selling club because of that?
Only the sales of Tonali, Reijnders and Thiaw were made for profit sake, and let’s not kid ourselves, especially the sake of Tonali was an anathema but a turnaround strategy in order to rebuild after Kessie, Donnarumma and Hakan left for free. If that makes Milan a selling club, then suffice to say Milan was as well a negligent asset management club that fails to renew the contracts of its priced assets.
Inter Milan sold:
1. Onana €50m
2. Pinamonti €20m
3. Brozovic €20m
4. Zakwski €18m
5. Lukaku €115m
Total €223m
Napoli sold:
1. Koulibaly €42m
2. Fabian Ruiz €22m
3. Kim €50m
4. Elmas €24m
5. Kvaratskhelia €80m
6. Osimhen €75m
7. Raspadori €22m
Total €315m
Milan sold:
1. Tonali €60m
2. Reijnders €55m
3. CDK €24
4. Thiaw €35m
5. Theo €35m
Total €209
Obviously I missed out on Theo just like i missed out on Lukaku for Inter Milan. Like I mean if i can include Thiaw, could I have deliberately kept Theo out? Comon, that’s baseless, will a mere €30m differentiate between a selling and non selling club? I mean guys are very low in your reasoning.
Just looking at the names mentioned, without adding any transfer values, you could easily see that Inter Milan and Napoli had clearly benefited from major transfers than Ac Milan, but you instead claim that Ac Milan is the selling club.
CARDINALE DAN FURLANI HARUS MENINGGALKAN MILAN SECEPATNYA. MEREKA BERDUA TIDAK PUNYA AMBISIUS MEMBAWA MILAN MENJADI SCUDETTO ITALIA,JUARA LIGA CHAMPION MAUPUN JUARA ANTAR CLUB DUNIA. He must leave the club
At this point Cardinale must sell the club and they all have to leave except Tare and Allegri.
Cardinale isn’t selling s**t until the stadium is within actual reach and the NBA team is confirmed.
Well… The fans have been “deeply upset” with him for years now and we’re practically paying his salary, FFS!!! GTFO ALREADY!!!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬
Joh-n Legend is in the house! purposely making the list shorter to support his love toward Cardinale LMAO
I hope you know this is a conversation we’re having and not a job I get paid for doing.
I would appreciate it if you give a more elaborate and longer list to share your opinion rather than poking on my comment like you masturbate on it.
It would be a good thing if I also learn from you, wouldn’t it?
