Gabbia admits ‘it is not easy’ to slot in at Milan but adds: “Pioli keeps us ready”

Ahead of the game between AC Milan and Hellas Verona, Matteo Gabbia spoke to the media and shared his thoughts on the task. The youngster, who has impressed largely, will make his third consecutive start.

Gabbia came off the bench in the away game against Chelsea and has since played every game from start. Allowing Pierre Kalulu to move out to the right, the academy product has impressed despite facing tough strikers (Vlahovic, Aubameyang).

Speaking to DAZN, as cited by SempreMilan.it, the defender shared his thoughts on the game and also his recent success. He was also asked about his partner Fikayo Tomori, who had two tough games against Chelsea.

On starting…

“It’s not easy to be ready, but I think it’s very important in a team. The manager keeps us all ready and attentive during training. Our goal is to enter the field and not to regret those defined as the starters.”

How’s Tomori?

“He’s a great player, I don’t have to be the one to say his qualities. They are there for all to see. He will have a great season and we are happy to have him with us.”

Milan need to claim the three points to keep up with Napoli, who managed to win their game against Bologna earlier today by three goals to two. Furthermore, Milan need to bounce back from the Chelsea disappointment.
