Watch: Gabbia delivers pre-game inspiration as Milan gain three huge points

Before their win against Genoa, Matteo Gabbia delivered a captain-like speech to his AC Milan teammates and it clearly paid off!

For years now, there has been talk about Gabbia and his future at Milan. Not in terms of him leaving, but in the sense of him one day taking the armband. Of course, Mike Maignan renewed his deal, so it may not be close.

However, the Italian is essentially a vice-captain, as shown by his leadership role before the Genoa game.

Gabbia’s pre-game speech

Before kick-off, as normal, the team huddled waiting for someone to speak. Traditionally, it is the captain who would speak here. However, Gabbia did so on this occasion and riled his teammates up, as can be seen below.

“It’s the decisive moment of the year, let’s look each other in the face and put all our energy into this damn pitch. Let’s give everything for our teammate and put our heart and soul into it!”

  1. Hmm disaster talk. Nothing for supoters just for teammates and sponsors if they take Champion league.
Eh Gabbia you not smart to talk better shut up

    1. F’ing hell.

Can we start banning people coming onto this AC Milan forum and insulting AC Milan players?

    2. That’s bs Pippo. Did you ever play football yourself ? if you did you would know that such pre match huddle up can actually be beneficial to unite as an unit while getting up in gear.

  2. Can you imagine Milan doesn’t have a single Italian on the lineup?..

Don’t have the defense. Even, the pre-game speech they won’t have. lol

  3. Make him captain already…

    I suppose it works.

Maignan was convinced to stay and Gabbia leads out on the field.

    No more CBs please.
