Sunday’s match against Parma brought bad news, not only for AC Milan’s title pursuit but also on the injury front too.
In the space of a few minutes, Massimiliano Allegri lost two players. The first was Matteo Gabbia, who was warming up as normal getting ready for a start in the middle of the three-man defence, then felt a twinge in his muscle. He was removed from the XI as a precaution, with Koni De Winter replacing him.

The other injury came after just a few minutes of play, following a collision between Corvi in the Parma goal and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. The midfielder was taken off on a stretcher and in a neck brace, then was urgently taken to the hospital for checks and underwent surgery, resulting in eight weeks out.
Regarding Gabbia’s condition, MilanNews confirm that the scan he had on Monday confirmed the absence of any severe muscle strain or tear. As a result he will be monitored day by day in view of Sunday’s game against Cremonese.
According to MilanistiChannel – part of the La Gazzetta dello Sport network – the scan bodes well in terms of the likelihood of the Italian being available for the match at the weekend. It will all depend how training goes in the days approaching the game.
