Matteo Gabbia has urged Mike Maignan to sign a contract renewal with AC Milan, following what was another crucial performance from the goalkeeper.

If there were any doubts about Maignan’s quality, they have all been squashed in the last week. After the penalty save against Inter in the derby, the goalkeeper made a stunning reflex save to deny Mario Gila in the 1-0 against Lazio last night.

He was named the MOTM in the derby, as you would have expected, but he also received it against Lazio as an early goal for the Biancocelesti would have changed everything. However, while his performances have been fantastic, it has also increased the concern among the fans.

Maignan’s contract will expire at the end of the season and before the game last night, Igli Tare revealed that he has a pact with the goalkeeper. In short, the management won’t push for a renewal during the season and the parties will sit down to discuss it when the time comes.

The management may not be pushing right now, but Maignan’s teammates certainly are. On Instagram, Matteo Gabbia responded to the No.16’s comment on his post: “PLEASE 🖊️”. Of course, the pen refers to signing a new contract.

  1. Remember this is red bird capitalist, who buy players based on money ball.
They don’t appreciate athletes, just buy and sell with low wages.

    1. That’s why it makes sense to keep him. You have to spend money on new GK and no one knows if they could ever match Maignan.

The squad is already in a fragile state. Our squad is still missing ST, CB/CBs and another RB (based on if we keep Santi or not, maybe even a CM)
