Matteo Gabbia’s minutes have been limited so far this season and there have been a few reasons for this. However, he should return to prominence for AC Milan soon.
It seems weird that Gabbia’s season is really beginning – or going to begin – in the middle of October. Of course, he had a few minutes at the start of the season, but his injury made it impossible to get any time on the pitch after that. It now appears that he is ready to rise again, though.
Ga-back-bia
As PianetaMilan relay from today’s edition of Il Giorno, Gabbia is back to working full-time with Ruben Amorim and the injury issue is now a ‘distant memory’. So much so that he’s now ready to start climbing back up the hierarchy to regain his spot in the team.
The October schedule will be difficult to navigate, so it seems impossible to see him not getting any time on the pitch. Amorim appreciates the Italian heavily, praising him regularly at Milanello and in press conferences.

So, it’s purely a technical decision – alongside the issues with his injury – to have not given him more playing time so far this season. He should return to prominence soon, though, and the Rossoneri’s vice-captain will very much be part of that.
