CM: Galatasaray ‘back with a vengeance’ for Fofana – the stance of the player, Milan and Allegri

AC Milan midfielder Youssouf Fofana is the subject of interest from Turkey again, and his future is not 100% certain.

According to Calciomercato.com, Galatasaray are ‘back with a vengeance’ and want to sign Fofana after a failed attempt in the winter mercato. Back then, the Turkish club’s board (vice president Abdullah Kavukçu and intermediary George Gardi) arrived in Italy.

The delegation from Galatasaray came to Milan to negotiate in person with both the player and with the Milan management. The former Monaco player is a target of coach Okan Buruk, who wants to hand him the midfield keys next season.

A decision to make

Galatasaray have offered Fofana a four-year contract with a salary of €5m per year in an attempt to convince the French midfielder to join Victor Osimhen and his team-mates in Istanbul.

These significant figures have been met with openness from his entourage, but not yet from the player himself. Fofana remains firm in his resolve not to leave Milan to move to Turkey, where the league is certainly less competitive than Serie A.

Fofana’s growth as a midfielder and his importance within the dressing room are factors that are not overlooked at Milan. Yet the Rossoneri’s position has been clear for several years: no one is unsellable when faced with truly irresistible offers.

For Youssouf, the Rossoneri want more than €30m, otherwise he’ll remain at Allegri’s disposal without a problem. The coach sees significant room for growth in the Frenchman and wouldn’t want to let him go, not without a big fee in return at least.

  1. He has grown immensely this year but he’s still an incredibly frustrating player to watch.

For 30m I’d sell. But if he stays it will be interesting to see if his growth curve continues.

  2. He is incredibly frustrating to watch but I think with a good targeted pre season where he improves his shooting and composure in the final third he could become a very useful player.

Hes very good at finding space between the lines to position himself or to break lines with runs.. its what he does after that that makes us want to squeeze our balls

    1. let’s be real- he is 27 years old, he is playing football since he was probably 6/7/8/9 years point, so around 20 years to this point. If he didnt imporved shooting and composure yet he will not do it during few weeks of preaseason. He plays how he plays- we can either accept that and keep him, or sell him, that’s the reality
