TMW: Galatasaray enquire about Pulisic after Leao – Milan and Cardinale’s clear stance

After being linked with a move for Rafael Leao, Galatasaray are now targeting another star AC Milan forward in Christian Pulisic.

TuttoMercatoWeb report that Galatasaray are continuing to scout the market search of a high-profile signing to strengthen their attack. Among the names the Istanbul club are targeting is Pulisic, who has been shortlisted by their management.

For now, it seems to be a simple enquiry: Galatasaray have gathered information on the situation of the American winger, evaluating the feasibility of a possible operation. Galatasaray are keen on the former Chelsea man, but they have instantly hit a wall.

For their part, Milan appear to have no intention of opening negotiations over Pulisic’. The Rossoneri’s aim instead is to secure Pulisic with a renewal, as he is considered one of the team’s key players and is also considered crucial by Gerry Cardinale.

A renewal to resolve

The owner would like to keep him at Milan. At the moment Galatasaray’s interest has not changed Milan’s position, while Sky’s Peppe Di Stefano reiterated this stance in a recent interview.

“I expect the Pulisic of two years ago. I think he’ll stay at Milan. Cardinale is American and I think he wants an American symbol. But beyond that, except for last season, Pulisic’s first two years were perfect: double figures in both years,” he said.

“[…] I hope Pulisic can stay at Milan but I know there’s the dynamics of the contract that needs to be sorted out. Then there’s the injury situation which isn’t great to manage: in the last 12 months he’s been very often injured, but it’s difficult to find a player with Pulisic’s value.”
