From Turkey: Galatasaray reignite interest in signing Milan centre-back

After being linked with a move in the winter transfer window, Galatasaray have come back in for Strahinja Pavlovic.

Pavlovic was linked with a potential exit since the start of the January mercato when he was barely getting any playing time under the new head coach Sergio Conceicao, having struggled for game time under Paulo Fonseca too. Galatasaray apparently asked for him in talks over Alvaro Morata.

Galatasaray back in for Pavlovic

According to journalist Kagan Dursun, the name of Strahinja Pavlovic has come up again for Galatasaray, having been mentioned as a target a few months ago. At the moment, there are no negotiations underway, but the player’s willingness is being assessed.

Dursun writes that if the player were to be open to a transfer to Turkey, he would become Galatasaray’s top transfer target for the centre-back position. At present, Pavlovic’s desire is unknown, but he has not been suggested as a sale candidate in the same way Malick Thiaw has been.

The Serbia international arrived 12 months ago from Red Bull Salzburg after an exhausting negotiation. He played 35 games across all competitions in his first season with the Rossoneri, registering two goals and two assists.

  1. Yes. Sell him. I don’t know why people think he’s better than Thiaw. Pavlovic looks like he is always in panic mode. Smh

    1. I do agree Thiaw is a good project, but Pavlo needs time. Last season was a brown-show on all accounts, especially in the defensive phase. There’s a good defender in there that Allegri can hopefully unlock.

I would argue for selling Tomori. He has good recovery speed but is prone to obnoxious challenges, season after season.

  2. If you sell him that money should go directly to buy Calafori or Leoni or even Comuzzo. If Newcastle comes for Thiaw and he’s willing to move buy one of those remaining in the list above plus the Money from Pobega/Bennacer/Adli. Not sure why the thought of Tomori at RB has not been considered. Unless they believe he’s likely to get sold as well. But Thiaw and Tomori both seem to want to stay. They fiddled around w all the other striker options and let Napoli get Lucca. They need to add more domestics to the squad. Not bench players but 1500-2500 minute players.

  3. The less is tomori in defensive skills. Pavlovic needs a chance under allegri. I wish we could buy dragusin from Tottenham

  4. WHY WILL THE USELESS MANAGEMENT SELL PAVLOVIC WHEN HE’S GIVING ALL IN THE PITCH, FAR BETTER THAN THE BACK LINE INCLUDING THE AIMLESS RAFAEL LEAO. IF THEY SELL PAVLOVIC IT’S OBVIOUS THE MANAGEMENT IS WORTHLESS.
