Last night, Olivier Giroud secured Milan’s first proper pre-season win with a lovely brace that highlighted his class. Yet, one of the main points in the newspapers this morning is the Charles De Ketelaere negotiations.
Milan are eager to reinforce the team ahead of the start of the season and several names have been mentioned lately. Charles De Ketelaere appears to be the No.1 target and negotiations could close soon.
On their front page, Gazzetta Dello Sport wrote the following: “De Ketelaere – 90 minutes and then arrival at Milan. Today he will say goodbye to Brugge with the Supercup. And Milan will raise their offer to almost €35m. Already Giroud scores a brace and points to the Scudetto.”
Tuttosport also praised Giroud for his class display: “Chapeau Giroud! It’s already Milan. Two super goals from the Frenchman.” Corriere Dello Sport had a similar angle: “Giroud exalts Milan, 2-1 against Köln.”
