AC Milan are preparing for the final week of pre-season as the season opener is scheduled for August 17, with one friendly left before then. In today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, an interview with Ruben Loftus-Cheek was published.
Paulo Fonseca’s men have established a winning run of sorts in the US, winning their first two friendlies, and they will be looking to make it 3/3 against Barcelona on Tuesday/Wednesday. As stated by Loftus-Cheek in the pink newspaper, this Milan is better than last season.
The status of the ‘Milanello stars’ was also discussed in the newspaper as athletic tests are currently on the agenda for them. They will not have a friendly game with the first team prior to the season opener, though, which is far from ideal.

First impressions are quite positive. The players have obviously accepted the new coach and his game and work tactics well. Of course, the main things are yet to come, but only now can you clearly see how much the team needed a change after 5 years of Pioli !
