Gallery: ‘AC Milan-worthy night’, ‘Fonseca out of danger’ – Today’s front pages in Italy

It’s the morning after last night, and after two years AC Milan have finally won the derby. A deserved victory and Milan-like performance, this morning’s papers have looked at the Rossoneri’s dominance.

Ahead of the derby, many believed that Milan could be in for a long night on Sunday. Inter had a chance to win their seventh consecutive derby – a feat that has never been done before – and it was assumed that at the full-time whistle that would be changed.

This was not the case, though. The Diavolo performed magnificently, displaying heart and above all quality. If anything, Inter were made to look better by some poor finishing by the Rossoneri’s forwards, but with three points, no one will complain.

        1. Not one single team outside of Serie B plays with 4-3-1-2. What do we do with our FOUR wingers, one of which is the best player and another who is our highest paid?

      1. Not a true (or I should say not our usual) 4-2-3-1. During some moments of the game, Morate steps up really high alongside Abraham making it a 4-2-4. Morata, Abraham and Pulisic moved and changed positions quite a lot. But I guess in the end, Morata replaced Loftus-Cheek in a way and Reijnders retained his position in the double pivot.
But what really changed yesterday was the depth of our block, our pressing pattern and our plan during the possession phase.

        1. Makes sense. 3 cbs for inter, you catch them off balance with 4 attackers. Pep plays with 4 attackers all the time nowadays, works for him why shouldn’t it work for us? Leao needs to wake up and smell the roses tho..
