Goncalo Ramos was announced by AC Milan earlier in the week and it seems the new management have Adriano Galliani’s stamp of approval for the signing.
After a slow start, searching for a head coach as well as a new management, Milan decided to make up for that with a bang. On Tuesday this week, Ramos was announced as the new striker, arriving from PSG in a record-breaking deal (believed to be €70m+).

Seeing as the Rossoneri struggled to find the back of the net last season, making a striker the first signing of the summer definitely makes sense. However, few would have expected them to spend so much, especially after how it has looked in recent years.
Galliani is intrigued
Speaking at the charity event United for Meyer last night, as cited by MilanNews, the former Milan CEO Galliani shared his thoughts on the striker, as well as his love for the club. By the sounds of it, the new management has his stamp of approval, even if time is the only deciding factor.
“31 years of the Rossoneri, I can’t die wearing any other colours. I’m definitely a huge AC Milan fan. I saw Ramos the other night, he seems quick… We have been missing a top-notch centre forward for many years, and this one seems to have the right characteristics. Let’s hope so.
“However, having been in football for 50 years of football, I never celebrate during the summer. You have to celebrate the following spring, when the league titles, cups, and so on are awarded.
“Over the years, I have sometimes thought I have made great transfers, only for them to turn out poorly. It’s only later that we will understand whether it was a great transfer or not,” he stated.

Well the last “super sub” delusionally established player we signed was Giroud, please check his stats with Ac Milan to decipher if he was indeed a star player or not.
Lest I forget, Nico Paz is warming the bench at the world cup, he must be a terrible player for sitting out for Messi as is Ramos for sitting out for Ronaldo and Dembele.
Giroud was signed when he was 35. He was a sub because he was old. Majority of his career he was a starter.
Last striker super sub Milan signed was Origi.

Giroud wasn’t 35 at Arsenal and Chelsea and was a backup striker as fvck.
He was never the starter over Alexis Sanchez or Wallcot at Arsenal.
He was never the starter over Morata, Higuain, Abraham, Batsuayi at Chelsea.

And secondly, please don’t bring up the Origi conversation, it doesn’t add up.
Origi was a sub player at Liverpool and was signed to still be a sub at Milan, he was never a star acquisition, we had Zlatan and Giroud as our star strikers.
Origi was not signed to be a backup.
Zlatan was 40 and he was going to be out majority of the season because of a surgery and Milan gave Origi higher salary than Giroud. Origi and Theo Hernández were the 2 highest paid players on the team in 22/23 making 4 mil a year

Origi was on a free transfer, that was primarily the reason paid him that much salary as we paid €0 transfer fee.
Getting a super sub from Liverpool in the EPL for only €4m annually and €0 transfer fee would be a good deal in any big football club financial records.
Secondly, we signed Origi knowing fully well he was carrying a muscle injury, we were ready to manage him in the backup role with the injury.

Giroud was 36 years old, Zlatan was 40 and injured but you called them our star strikers. Origi just turned 27 when they signed him. He is 31 today.
What does Origi carrying an injury got to do with him being signed to be a sub or a starter? He signed 4 year contract. Zlatan and Giroud only had 1 year left on theirs, were old and he made more money than both.
You don’t make someone your highest paid player on a team that have low salary ceiling to be the backup. He was signed to be the starter but he was trash.
Gimenez last year was signed to be the starter and by the end of his 1st season he end up being a bench player to Tammy and Jovic.
