AC Milan will face Monza in the second edition of Trofeo Silvio Berlusconi on Tuesday evening, being the final test of pre-season. In an interview done yesterday evening, Monza CEO Adriano Gallkian shared his thoughts on the game.
Milan have played four friendly games this pre-season, winning three and drawing one, and there is now just one left with the season starting next week. Of course, we are talking about Trofeo Silvio Berlusconi as Monza will come to the San Siro.
The first edition of the tournament took place last year, following the passing of Silvio Berlusconi, and Milan prevailed after penalties at the U-Power stadium. Speaking to Mediaset (via MilanNews), the former Milan CEO and current Monza CEO shared his thoughts on the game.
“For us, the game has a great moral value because if Monza are here and if Milan have won everything, we owe it all to Silvio Berlusconi and no one else. We must remember it for the rest of our lives,” he stated.
Kick-off is scheduled for 21:00 on Tuesday and since the league opener will take place on Saturday, it might not be the most star-studded XI from Milan. Nevertheless, it will be a special game and both sides will be looking to put on a show for the crowd.
