AC Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis has praised the ‘crazy mentality’ of the current squad, and pledged to move forward with ‘quality players’ who can grow the club.
Gazidis has overseen a successful 2020/21 season as the CEO of the club, where he has held the post since 2018. The former Arsenal executive has big ambitions for the Rossoneri, which he conveyed through his exclusive with Milan TV
Speaking of Milan as a team, Gazidis credited the positive mentality to the growth in recent years, one which helped the team secure a return to the Champions League with a second-placed finish last season.
“They are special and young, with a crazy mentality. They has great strength inside. This team has always given an answer, this means having a great mentality. Only in this way can we be successful. We need quality players who can grow at the club. We have modern players with strength and speed who are doing a fantastic job,” he said. (via MilanNews).
Adding further, he praised Paolo Maldini’s presence in strengthening the values of the club. “He is a point of reference both technically and when we think about the values of the club. The fans can have confidence in this team,” said Gazidis.
Most recently, Milan secured the services of Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea on a permanent deal, weeks after confirming the arrival of goalkeeper Mike Maignan from LOSC Lille.
