Gazidis welcomes Tonali: “He is one of the biggest talents in international football”

Sandro Tonali officially joined AC Milan yesterday after the club announced the arrival of the player on their website. The 20-year-old joins the Rossoneri on an initial high-paid loan deal, with the club having obtained an option to buy the player outright at the end of the season.

The former Brescia midfielder had a busy day yesterday, having undergone his medical checkups with the club in the morning, fitness tests in the afternoon and signing the contract in the evening.

Paolo Maldini welcomed Tonali with some warm words yesterday, while the player himself gave an exclusive interview to Sky Sport, his first as a Milan player. And Ivan Gazidis, the CEO of the Rossoneri, also had a couple of words to say about Milan’s new reinforcement:

“We are delighted to welcome Sandro Tonali at Milan. He is certainly one of the most promising young talents in international football,” the director told the official website of the club.

“Sandro knows the club well and he is emotionally attached to it and shares the values underlying the project that we want to build together. Welcome Sandro!” he added.

Tonali is expected to take part in his first training session at Milanello today. His first match as a Milan player will take place on Saturday, as the Rossoneri face off against Tonali’s former side Brescia in a friendly match.
