The AC Milan squad are back in full training today preparing for the trip to face Juventus in what is a huge game at the Allianz Stadium.
After their win against Como on Monday night and Juve’s draw against Atalanta, Milan now sit three points behind their rivals in fifth and five points behind Lazio in fourth, with a game in hand over both (to be played against Bologna).
However, there are various issues ahead of the trip to Turin: Alvaro Morata is suspended and won’t face his former club, Malick Thiaw has a muscle injury and Christian Pulisic is battling fatigue.
Milan’s current predicted XI
At the moment, it seems as though the notion of Pulisic starting the game is unlikely given that there is a risk of re-aggravating a problem and being without him for a longer time period.
La Gazzetta dello Sport have predicted how the team will look, starting with Mike Maignan in goal and Emerson Royal, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez keeping their places in defence. Matteo Gabbia should come in for the injured Thiaw.
The midfield three is expected to consist of Youssouf Fofana between Yunus Musah to the right (in for Ismael Bennacer) and then Tijjani Reijnders to his left, with the Frenchman and Dutchman asked to work overtime again.
Up front there should be two changes: Tammy Abraham leading the line with Morata out and Alex Jimenez on the right wing over Pulisic. Rafael Leao will keep his spot after scoring the winner in Como.
Predicted Milan XI (4-3-3): Maignan; Emerson Royal, Gabbia, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Musah, Fofana, Reijnders; Jimenez, Abraham, Leao.

Fofana and Reijnders are over fatigue, its just a time till they get injured
Good, i never wanna see fofana again.
Milan under conceicao no wasting time on the pitch. Just run and run. More direct football. This is good for the team and mentality. No wasting too much like Fonseca.
Alex is a defender not winger. We need to look for someone who can score from the wings not Alex
He is more likely to score than Emerson, Calabria or Chukwueze at this point. Conceicao doesn’t have another option.
Sure! Here’s the translation:
We don’t want to see the failure who isn’t even fit to be a third-division striker. Abraham is a disgrace to the Milan jersey. Any player is better than him. He only moves, runs, and wastes chances. Send him back to Roma!
It’s not like we have plenty of options after the tripple injury in Como. Let’s hope for a positive result. I don’t care about the performance, we’re missing players and the coach needs time to implement his methods. However, the ranking is horrible for us and we’re in desperate need for points.
is the Chuck injured?. At least conceicao is going for it. A conservative coach like pioli, would’ve put Musah on the RW and Bennie in the mid to “protect” .
I have this premonition that Motta will be sacked this weekend after the defeat to us…. Like it’s not likely they win this match with the way Motta is managing the team.
Good thing the management couldn’t appoint him(Motta )to succeed Pioli. I will always choose Fonseca over him
what have u been smoking? Motta was probably one of the most sought after coaches last summer. 99% of people (if we look at this blog’s comment from last summer) wanted Motta over Fonseca.
From your prediction, neither of them would’ve worked. Fonseca was sacked and based on your premonition, so will Motta. I guess motta lasted a few weeks longer.
That’s right, 99% of the people on here did want Motta. You know, all the people now pretending they didn’t, who think they are so much smarter than the professionals we have running the team. Meanwhile that would have been a much bigger mistake than Fonseca because it would not have been so easy to sack him after a few months like Fonseca because they would have a lot more years and money invested in him.
Milan did go after Motta, but by the time they woke up, he had already agreed to the Juve move.
Motta needs more time and help up front. This is more of a failure on Guintoli than Motta. Yea, his team doesn’t score much but they are defensively solid and Vlahovic can’t score to save his life.
Motta has built a good foundation. They just need additions and firepower.
yea. I remember. If only we could have Motta’s defense and our offense. lol . Motta has the advantage of time but between us and Juve, it is a matter of who figures it out first. Juve unlocking the offense or Us shoring up our defense. My money is on us, but what do i know. I’m bias
there you all go again, making judgements and jumping into comclusions like everything is set in stone: juve will lose. Thank heavens you commenters aren’t the players because this attitude of already writing off the Juventus as a forgone win for us isn’t helping at all.
I always laughed 4-3-3 has caused us disastrous havoc than 4-2-3-1 because we don’t have quality players apart from Theo, leao, chukwueze, pulisic and Morata other players are chaff so Acmilan should sign quality players the only formation that can protect us from disaster is the 4-4-2 until we sign quality players to play the 4-2-3-1 we need attacking midfielders like 2 this not a joke.
