GdS: Milan player ratings for Dinamo Zagreb loss – six get 4.5 or below

AC Milan’s hopes of a top eight spot in the Champions League fell apart in the final game of the first phase, with a loss against Dinamo Zagreb.

Dinamo went in front in the first half when Martin Baturina capitalised on Matteo Gabbia’s slip to stride through on goal and score, and then Yunus Musah was sent off for two yellow cards 20 minutes apart.

Christian Pulisic got an equaliser early in the second half with an impressive strike, yet parity was short lived as Marko Pjaca restored the lead for the home side, one that they would see out in the end.

La Gazzetta dello Sport’s ratings

Milan have missed out on direct qualification for the last 16 and now face a tricky play-off against either Juventus or Feyenoord, then if they get through that either Inter or Arsenal await.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport has their ratings from the game, starting with the overall team performance and head coach Sergio Conceicao’s management, which each got a 4.5.

Pulisic got the equalising goal and looked the brightest spark going forward, earning a 6.5, while Musah saw red for silly incidents that jeopardised the game and thus he was given a 4.

He was not the only one to get a 4 though: Gabbia and Alvaro Morata received the same score. Rafael Leao got only half a mark more, as did Filippo Terracciano after coming off the bench.

Fikayo Tomori and Tijjani Reijnders were given a 5, Mike Maignan and Theo Hernandez got a 5.5, while only Strahinja Pavlovic (6), Youssouf Fofana (6) and Samuel Chukwueze (6.5) were saved from criticism.

      1. No but he’s being given the lowest rating because of the error, when in reality he was no better or worse than anyone else last night…

    1. My favourite is Pavlovic 6. Whole defense completely destroyed by 21 year old kids. Literally. Pavlovic was in direct fault for the goal but got saved by handball. Cmon’, 6 for that? 😀 5 at best.

He got a 6 on his previous match, not based on this one…

  1. Called this season off,it is getting embarrassing everytime we step on to the pitch.the team is unwatchable.
Reflect and plan better get re

  2. I could only watch the second half, but Chuk was a disaster – can’t beat his man, giving fouls away, awful decision making every time he gets a glimpse of goal – must have had a hell of a first half?!
