Gazzettino: Milan leading Juventus, Inter and others in home attendance after first two rounds

AC Milan are leading the way in terms of home attendance after the first two rounds of Serie A action, a report has confirmed.

After a year and a half of closed stadiums, Serie A has restarted with fans in the stands – albeit with only 50% of capacity allowed due to government regulations. Today’s edition of Il Gazzettino (via MilanNews) writes how in the first round of the season the most watched match was Inter-Genoa at San Siro (27,402 fans out of 37,961 seats).

That came ahead of Roma-Fiorentina at the Stadio Olimpico (26,997 out of 36,630) and Napoli-Venezia with 18,300 spectators in a Maradona that could have welcomed 27,363. Sampdoria-Milan meanwhile had just 4,966 out of the 18,299 seats that were available.

The second round of the season saw Milan-Cagliari top the charts with 31,946 out of the 37,961 capacity. Lazio-Spezia followed with 22,000 (out of 36,630), Juventus-Empoli with 17,584 (20,753), Fiorentina-Torino at 12,592 (23,641) and Salernitana-Rome 12,500 (16,650).

With Milan’s next two games in the league being against Lazio at home and Juventus away, the average should be set to rise.
