GdS: A new shirt number and salary – the details of Ibrahimovic’s Milan renewal

By Oliver Fisher -

After weeks of speculation and back-and-forth, it appears as though Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s renewal saga will come to an end.

According to Friday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), a new deal for the Swede seemed like a formality and instead it took several weeks to reach an agreement between the parties, but now the white smoke has arrived.

Ibrahimovic has accepted a new one-year deal withsaid yes to the renewal for another season with the Rossoneri and tomorrow he will land again in Milan to sign and get ready for preseason.

The paper adds that the 38-year-old has also decided to change shirt number. There will be no more No.21 for the former PSG man, instead he will wear the No.9 which has been problematic for everyone since Pippo Inzaghi stopped wearing it in 2012.

Ibrahimovic will in fact receive €7million net for his new one-year deal without bonuses, which makes him the highest paid player in the AC Milan squad, above even Gigio Donnarumma.
