GdS: Abraham liked by Premier League side with Milan deal on hold

By Ben Dixon -

Throughout the summer, AC Milan have been flirting with the idea of adding another striker to their squad, and one of their preferences may be snatched from under their noses, according to a report.

It has been a strange summer in many regards. Not only was the mercato slow to open, but Milan have continued that pace until now. On the other hand, though, they have made three additions, but even then, there can be arguments about whether this is enough, and it is fair to say that the debates would be quite short.

Before the mercato opened, reports stated that the Rossoneri wanted to make at least four senior signings, and so far they have made three, and the ideal fourth would be Youssouf Fofana, but a move is difficult to finalise due to his contractual situation and Monaco’s resoluteness.

Aside from the four musts, there have also been questions about depth, and the Diavolo have been intertwined with links to strikers, with suggestions in place that another No.9 is a goal, but whether a move will be made is yet to be seen.

Tammy Abraham has seemed the most likely candidate to finish the front line, but things have slowed on that deal, and according to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News), West Ham United have ‘swooped’, and whilst there have been no official offers, he is seen as a good option to flank Niclas Fullkrug by Julen Lopetegui.

Perhaps in another world, the trio would be wearing Rossoneri colours at the start of the 2024/25 Serie A season…
