GdS: AC Milan continue to insist on Piatek; Pioli’s plan for the striker

By Isak Möller -

Despite having just three goals under his belt this season, Kris Piatek continues to get a new chance at AC Milan, week after week. He definitely hasn’t been able to live up to the standards of last season, which is worrying.

The Rossoneri haven’t had a good start to the season, and their lack of goalscoring has certainly been a big part of the problem. Just like Rafael Leao, Piatek has bagged just one goal from open play, which has become a huge problem.

Thanks to his goal against Parma last time out, Theo Hernandez is now the club’s joint-top goalscorer (three goals), which really says a lot. According to Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews.it), however, Milan continue to insist on Piatek.

Stefano Pioli will continue to start the Polish international up front, hoping that he can break the goal-drought before January. In the upcoming matches, therefore, Leao should remain on the bench.
