GdS: Adli the only bright spark as Milan’s summer signings disappoint again

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli half-rotated the team in view of the return leg against Inter during the defeat to Spezia yesterday, and virtually all of the reserve options disappointed.

As this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via PianetaMilan) writes, Pioli left Charles De Ketelaere on the bench and decided to field Divock Origi on the left side with Brahim Diaz as the playmaker and Alexis Saelemaekers on the right.

Against Cremonese and Inter Origi showed something, but against Spezia he disappointed. The same goes for Ante Rebic, who is no longer having an impact as a striker and looks lost on the field

Tommaso Pobega lost the ball 17 times which is of course a real problem when playing as a deeper midfielder, while Charles De Ketelaere came on and lost the ball which led to a dangerous chance while failing to create anything.

The only summer signing who showed anything was Yacine Adli who looked like he wanted to create something with his dribbling and passing. It was just his sixth appearance of the season, and in a Milan side where everyone has had at least one chance, perhaps the Frenchman could have been more useful.
