Since Max Allegri was announced as AC Milan’s new head coach yesterday, he hasn’t had time to complete his technical staff just yet. However, as highlighted by a report, nine names are certain to join him.

In the space of a few days, Milan’s new sporting director Igli Tare reached an agreement with Allegri to return to the club. It was announced yesterday and work has already begun, with the manager having his say on the club stars and more.

As highlighted by today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below), the manager is also in the process of putting together his technical staff. Since some of his men are under contract with Juventus until 30, they weren’t named in the official announcement, but the ideas are clear.

The specialists

Allegri’s right-hand man is Marco Landucci, who has been with him since his experience in Grosseto; they were also together at Cagliari, Milan and Juventus. In the red and black team, he was the goalkeeping coach, with Mauro Tassotti as the assistant coach, while in Turin, he became Max’s assistant.

The relationship with the athletic trainer Simone Folletti is just as long, if not longer, and he will join Allegri at Milan as well. The manager’s teams have rarely disappointed in terms of running, so it makes sense to continue on the same path.

Landucci and Folletti were fired a year ago by Juve, but unlike their ‘boss’ Allegri, they didn’t opt out of their contracts with the Bianconeri which will expire on June 30.

Goalkeepers to Filippi

As the goalkeeping coach, the idea is to bring in Claudio Filippi, Juventus’ goalkeeping coach from 2010 to 2024. Since last summer, he has been the goalkeeping coordinator of Juve’s youth team. He’s still tied to Juve, but could terminate the contract and follow Max. In Turin, he worked with Buffon, Szczesny, Perin and Storari. His task is to bring Maignan back to the top…

The collaborators

In terms of on-field work, the collaborators chosen so far also know Allegri well. Aldo Dolcetti has been with him since his Milan years, where he started out leading the Primavera. In 2013-14, he joined the Livorno coach’s staff and followed him in his two experiences at Juve.

Maurizio Trombetta, on the other hand, joined Max’s group in 2014 at Juventus, after having worked in Udine with Guidolin and having led Cluj. The third technical collaborator will be Francesco Magnanelli, who last season coached the Juventus Primavera and who worked with Allegri in 2023-24, the year of the Coppa Italia victory.

A curiosity: Magnanelli was also a player of Allegri, in 2007-08 at Sassuolo, and together they achieved promotion to Serie B. Simone Padoin, on the other hand, will remain at Juve.

The physios and observers

In the working group, there will also be the trusted physiotherapist Stefano Grani, who met Max when he was still playing for Pistoiese. He has been with him since his experience at SPAL and takes care of the muscles of the knocked-out players.

Then come the trusted observers, both former players: Emilio Doveri, former defender of Siena and Arezzo, was Allegri’s assistant at Aglianese, Spal and Grosseto. He always studied the games live, as well as the opponents ahead of an encounter.

Finally, we also have Roberto Bosco, former defender of Reggiana, Fiorentina and Pisa, who was Galeone’s assistant at Pescara when Allegri was still a player. He has worked with the coach since 2010 at Milan.
