GdS: Almstadt and Moncada’s power increases – duo influential in Hernandez and Rebic signings

By Oliver Fisher -

Hendrik Almstadt and Geoffrey Moncada are set for an increasingly powerful role in the revival of AC Milan, according to a report

The former is the ex sporting director of Aston Villa and has a past at Arsenal where he met CEO Ivan Gazidis, and mainly deals with analysis regarding transfer targets. Essentially, he deals with both strictly technical and economic matters.

The second, however, joined the Rossoneri from Monaco in the role of head scout and is just 31 years of age, but was responsible for a number of key purchases that the Ligue 1 side made and were able to sell on.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports on Wednesday (via MilanLive) that the duo little-known but are in fact crucial figures for the recovering of Milan. A number of targets could arise from a dense network of scouts around the world, who are providing the club potential talent base from which to start to trace the company’s guidelines.

And it is also thanks to their work that players like Tiémoué Bakayoko, Theo Hernandez and Ante Rebic arrived and then became fundamental. Obviously, the managers were the ones who endorsed the business and followed the negotiations in person, but they were key in the initial identification and continue to work in the background.
