GdS: Alternative formation becomes a possibility for Milan against as duo close in on return

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli should soon be able to pick from a full rank of midfielder options as a duo are closing in on a return, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MN24) writes that Tiemoue Bakayoko and Rade Krunic are completing the athletic programme to get back into shape and Pioli will soon be able to have both of them back.

It is of course good news for the Milan coach, who can now have even more depth in the midfield in addition to the main trio of Franck Kessie, Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer who have so far played almost all the minutes between them.

The return of the two midfielders will bring the coach greater abundance which, the paper adds, will also allow him to sometimes play with the 4-3-3 if he wants more stability in the middle of the park.
