GdS: Amadeus plotted peace-making with Ibra but Lukaku snubbed Sanremo appearance

By Isak Möller -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic sparked some controversy as he decided to appear at the Sanremo Music Festival last week. In the end, it came to nothing as the Swede couldn’t feature for Milan anyway due to an injury.

The 39-year-old was present on all nights except one, when the Rossoneri took on Udinese at San Siro. He was at the stadium to watch the game and cheer on his teammates, still focused on his Milan duties.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanLive), the idea of Romelu Lukaku making an appearance (for one night) at the festival was indeed concrete. Ibrahimovic welcomed the idea as he also made clear in an interview, not holding any grudge against the Belgian.

Amadeus, the director of the show, had plotted a potential peace-making between the two but he received a negative response from Lukaku. The latter wanted to have full focus on Inter and even rejected making a video appearance.
